Institute for Signal Processing
Welcome!
The Institute for Signal Processing has been established in 1998. Research interests include the areas of image processing and pattern recognition, speech and audio processing, coding and communications, and biosignal processing. The teaching activities cover the signal and image processing related topics in the study courses Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Mathematics in Medicine and Life Science, Medical Engineering Science, and Biomedical Engineering.
One of our research projects is all about the upper limb. Our research mostly focuses on applications in the medical field but also can be applied in life style or consumer products to allow intuitive interaction and control of a computer/machine.
Our main goal is to decode hand gestures and arm motions from biosignals. Therefore we develop novel neural network based approaches to reliably recognize the movement in real time.
